I plan on going fishing with my wife to Lake Chicot next Monday & Tuesday and was wondering the following since I have never been there:

1) Any update on how Crappies are doing out there

2) What type of bait or jig you would recommend for that lake?

Thanks in advance

Pomoxis is a genus of freshwater fish in the sunfish family (family Centrarchidae) of order Perciformes. The type species is P. annularis, the white crappiei. The common name crappie (pronounced /ˈkræpiː/), refers to either of the Pomoxis species, both of which are extremely popular game fish.
